Flying from Columbus to Chicago is ridiculous. Driving has to be almost the same time.

Six hours and change, so it's considerably longer, plus paying to park at the hotel and stuff.

Doing it to ditch the car is reasonable. I'm looking forward to traveling without kids and all the 'just in case' stuff that goes along with it.

Same time from Minneapolis and we made the drive yesterday. Super easy, made it on one tank of gas and found a lot that is $78 for three days around the corner from our hotel.

It's a special Great Lakes experience to be the exact driving distance away from your destination as a flight with a layover (usually through Chicago)

But then you have to drive in Chicago. Which, I get it. It’s probably second nature when you live there. But when you come from a lighter traffic city, it looks like unbridled chaos.

I won't fly there from Kansas City. But I was surprised how easy it was for my kids to handle public transportation in Chicago. I find it easier to drive in NYC than use public transit. When I lived there, I always used a bike because it was the fastest. And the train is too expensive.

Nah Just take transit when you get here! No need to drive at all!
