The point though is that you shouldn't have to file at all when they already know everything they need to. They should just send you a bill or a refund check and then if *you* disagree because you have more specific stuff to declare you can file an amendment.

I assumed, sorry didn't mean to come off differently. It just bothers me that the cost of filing is the main talking point when the unnecessary complexity for 99% of the population doesn't get enough attention because that's how the for-pay filers justify charging anything in the first place.
Oh, I didn't take any offense! I just wanted to add that you aren't the only one who feels that way! It's ridiculous how much time and money is spent to figure out what to send in or get back.
