Yeah I don’t think it’s AI either but I also think it’s quite fake. We already saw a fake statement that was supposedly from the husband get circulated. (It also had several typos. Here: “D uring” “elowns”) What’s the source here? Where did this come from?
(That said @jackq.bsky.social em dashes are really not a reliable indicator of LLMs! Academics and lawyers use them all the time. You can find old jokes about people overusing em dashes that predate LLMs.)
They get used more in the legal field than elsewhere, but, yes they are evidence of an LLM. They're just not dispositive. And like I said, that's not the singular evidence. That was taken in conjunction with the fact she was married to the CEO of an AI company. So probably supports AI use.
If you don't think they're evidence of AI use at all, you're just wrong on that.
The reason they’re used by LLMs is b/c they were frequently used by the writings LLMs were trained on—it’s not like LLMs developed a personal preference for em dashes. Also who she was married to only has relevance if she was in any way involved in this statement, and we have no evidence of that.

They CAN be evidence of a LLM. But I don't find them definitive, especially since I use them more than I should. I have no idea, and don't really care, if the message is a fake.
