The US never banned "Kinder Surprise Eggs", but there is a law from 1938 that forbids foods if it "has partially or completely imbedded therein any nonnutritive object." Of all the stupid things the US does, I never understood why outlawing putting choking hazards in kids treats is "crazy."

Ok semantics, they still aren’t allowed to be sold in the US, because they are a choking hazard, which was an example of the original point.
