This was true at the other place but I feel like it's a bit elevated. I talk about theatre/movies because I think about them & know something about them. A lot of professionals are here but also curious people. I like to follow others in the same way, but there's a lot of Trump This, Trump That.
By all means post when & how you please, but if you love something, if you're good at it, try to share it.
My problem is that I get very little engagement when I talk about the things I know and love, which makes me feel as though I am not good at them.
I think it's only that the right people haven't seen them yet :)

I don't know that I have much to share. I do have some opinions on some fairly obscure topics, that I mostly keep to myself. Unless they stumble into my vision here.
I agree. I follow people I believe add intelligence on the topics of interest to me. I comment/post when I have something to say. I’m an expert in a couple of topics 👵🏼 and have a lot to learn also.
The problem is: posting relentlessly about the same topic becomes boring for people who aren't like you (and limits your reach) My reach expanded 10000x just by sharing thoughts, opinions. I happily mix in the science though 👇 bsky.app/profile/real...

I've had a lot of people tell me "you shouldn't post about (insert political commentary here)" - you should just post about your research The irony being they'd have never seen my research if I hadn't expanded my reach by posting political stuff
