I totally agree. But democratic billionaires were pretty satisfied with a system they influenced but that maintained a social safety net to smooth the rough edges. Republican billionaires just want to destroy all guardrails and eliminate protections that moderated their rapacious practices.

There is a fine line between social safety and socialism. It was moving a bit too close to socialism. Please tell me a socialist society that thrived and didn’t turn into communism. You will never change our minds on that one. You should be rewarded for hard works. Not laziness

The data suggest that robust social safety net and support programs like those offered in Nordic countries under their “democratic socialism “ models are not less productive than the US system. This is because the social safety net exists alongside fairly aggressive free market business policies.

Likening social democratic policies to “communism” is neither conceptually nor politically true. Examples of successful social democratic economies abound - most of Europe. They’re successful enough that Trump is suppressing free trade with them. Ironic.

As the population ages, taxes will skyrocket and mass immigration will be needed for these social programs. Private enterprise will leave for tax countries taking their tax dollars with them. With the people over reliant, society will fall and communism will be born. Canada is starting right now
