This makes me sad but honestly I think it's the only way forward. I don't think I believe anymore that integrity can fight the truly corrupt anymore.

In a way, it could be argued that the people fighting this fight are the ones with the most integrity. It's easier to sit back and say there's nothing you can do than it is to get your hands dirty for a good cause. It would be nice not to have to do this but tbh it should have been done long ago.

This is true. I want the Dems to play just as dirty. I wish they had eliminated the filibuster for judges so much earlier, because in the end Repubs did it anyway. When the other side lacks morals you have to play at their level. But it really sucks going against our own morals too.

Battles need to be fought with ALL tools available. Fairness is achieved when ALL parties follow the same rules, NOT when we adhere to abstract plans that ensure that we will be victimized!

What's the point of going thru the humiliating process of gaining power if you don't use it when you get it? Obama could have got so much done his first two years but let the GOP set his agenda. It was sickening to me to watch. Roe could have been codified. Single payer passed. So much more.

Agreed. My hope is after this nightmare is over and the corruption is prosecuted, items like this where there's an independent commission gets put back; that it is only temporary to defeat fascism in America. Dems need to be careful to not lose themselves while also fighting these GOP assholes.
