Not a question of fault. Just a reality of business. Choices for both show hosts, producers & those that employ them. If Colbert wants to finish out he has to tow a fine line. If he'd rather go down in a blaze of glory he can do that too. His call.

It would be a question of fault, especially for the crew of 200 people that would be out of a job. The show was $40 million in the hole per season and Colbert made $15 million for the season. I guess he has enough to say “🤬 it” and let the crew fend for themselves but it would be his fault.

Who’s the victim? The show loses $40 million a year They take in $60 million a year in ad revenue for a show that takes $100 million to produce. Colbert makes $15 million a year and there are about 200 members of his crew. Where are the victims?

I'll spell it out for you... Well, you did to a degree. Yes, the victims are Colbert and his staff, along with the American citizens. Political attacks by don, the aggressor. Holding hostage a merger by requiring attacks against free speech is bribery.

So, your suggestion to Paramount / CBS is to keep running a show that costs $100 million a year to operate but only takes in $60 million in ad revenue? Even if Colbert and the staff agreed to cut $40 million from their operating budget, the show would still only break even.
