This guy is still on twitter mostly because he knows people will bring up his sexual assaults allegations here, but his eugenist friends won't

"I hate constructive criticism" Of course you do buddy, you're on the Internet.
There's no implication in the quote that the criticism is constructive - in fact "being assholes" sort of implies the opposite
Let’s just be totally clear - he’d rather continue to support Elon Musk’s propaganda venture than deal with comments from assholes he considers himself ideologically aligned with.
Idk, Will Stancil has made the case for "fighting the fight" on Twitter and Armand definitely does that. I'd rather read science posts and entertaining shitposters while getting some news, so I'm not up for that, but if he's feeling pugilistic maybe that's best for him.
Ok but that’s not why Armand said he prefers X.
I’m assuming that’s part of what he gets out of it, but 🤷♂️
I think this is rationalization for the following and dopamine hits and feeling of cadre/status If Armand came over here (and I wish he did) he’d have to work to build a follower count. And nuclear block makes that really hard Rather than admit that, he says that bullshit
I wish they'd just admit that they enjoy the drama of Twitter and all these reasons are actually secondary to the fact that like most people, they like trashy internet drama that Twitter can provide and they get more outreach there
Guy has such a big head about all this
People on this site could stand to be nicer to people they mostly agree with, but I don't know how you could write this and not feel like it's an incredible moral failing
I stopped coming around here as much because there’s a ton of “I like pancakes,” “Oh so you hate waffles” posting. No, we both like breakfast food. It’s okay disagree on which is better. It’s frustrating to see good discourse about mutual positions drowned out.
I truly rarely ever see posts like this, and I don't think I've ever had a reply to one of my posts that was so utterly contrarian, either. Specifically not over such casual opinions. Have seen lots of folks insult people here casually, then clutch pearls when they get the expected reaction.
Like, if your entire schtick is to come here and tell people this place is stupid, yeah: you get jumped. As Katt Williams once put it: "You can walk into the bar and say 'fuck everybody at the bar,' but you cannot then walk out of that bar."
It's because you don't have enough followers
It's like identifying as left wing and then openly admitting you feel uncomfortable when you see black people in your neighborhood without a hint of shame. Maybe it's true, but you're supposed to agree that it's bad and work to overcome that failing.
It's like what now? This is a bizarre analogy.
What is bizarre about this analogy?
Answer me, coward
It's like being a civil rights activist in the 60s who doesn't want to be seen near black people. Did i get that right?
I don't know. I'd say it's like being a basketball player who gets picked on in the locker room who would rather be on the field where if he returns elbows he at least feels like he's pushing in the right direction.
I'd disagree that it's a moral failure to get tired of being hit by friendly fire on a constant basis. It is a failure to exercise the block feature judiciously, though. I started blocking every account that emanates "durr liberals are stupid and love genocide" and it really elevates the quality.
So the ask of the silverites is to censor ourselves and hold us to higher standards than nazis to make them feel better? Absolute snowflakes
People regularly post horrific racism in his replies and he just clearly doesn’t think it’s a big deal
its also now revealing how pervasive murc's law is down to the interpersonal level. "sure, the republicans are evil racists who want to kill me, but that's just the way they are. dems who dont agree with me should know better, tho."
People whose worldview I admire keep yelling "shut the fuck up" at me and this does not reflect negatively on me in any way whatsoever.
It could be true, a lot of people on here are absolutely unhinged
“I’d rather fight nazis all day than anarchists” is an ok position to have but you’re also painting a big target on yourself if you ever do find yourself legitimate disagreeing with the anarchists Also not clear if posting on X really is fighting Nazis or performing in their circus
Lmao elder scrolls Breton ass name
“I hate when people who actually know things tell me I’m wrong.”
The quote says nothing about the "assholes" knowing things, only implies that they are broadly on his side.
Yeah, but I'm generally not an asshole to anyone unless I know they're wrong and they still won't agree with me.
I have to think you wrote this with a chuckle. Everybody thinks they're right and the other guy is wrong.
is this the first self-admitted case of pundit brain? like, we've all been saying it, but this probably is the first time ive seen the patient say it.
It's also not particularly honest given how effective, and how powerful, Bluesky's block is. He - or anyone else who has the same issue - can solve it by blocking anyone who's being an asshole to them (& I have seen examples of people being just plain dickish who need a mute or a block).
Agreed. It's honestly bothering me a bit. I like Armand but that post is just so weak. I get it. It sucks to get pushback from your team, it truly does, but come on. Have some perspective here.
I kind of wish they'd just admit that they enjoy the drama of Twitter and all these reasons about Blue being unwelcoming are actually secondary to the fact that like most people, they like trashy internet drama that Twitter can provide and they get more outreach there
"Oh Im fine when my ideological opposites hate me, but when my fellow libs disagree with me, that hurts my feelings" Boo hoo bitch
My "for many people, it is worse to be annoying than evil" view remains undefeated
My "for many people, participating in Twitter (even for the express purpose of disagreeing with much of what is said there) somehow constitutes approval" view remains undefeated
Why, exactly. Do you live your life trying to avoid people being mad at you?
Decisively not what's happening here!
Knowing they’ll never find consensus with Nazis and preferring to debate them for that specific reason really puts their priorities in perspective.
Right, what we have here is someone reveling in a sense of power of bullying. Common internet sociopathy.
