I adopted two baby turkeys that were in bad shape and not expected to make it (they did, obviously). After just a couple of days, they were feisty enough to dart past me and out of the brooder. I thought my older turkeys might hurt them, but they adopted them right away. Animals are so cool! 🥰

That’s amazing. Also, it’s worth noting that elephants organize around a matriarch in a way that might be described as socialist. Males are temporarily put in time outs (distanced from the herd) if they misbehave. It’s worked quite well for the species. We can learn a lot from animals.
