I have an unusual squirrel friend, Chip. In the spring it eats dandelions exclusively. Stands on its tippy toes to pull the flowers down to its mouth. Beyond precious.

How do you only have 7? One year I found a hole, with squirrels hanging around it, in my pool cover after it was ON my pool. I closed it up. That spring when I opened it there were 25 dead squirrels. I know that's not a nice story but the point is I saw ONE hanging around the hole.

We have way too many squirrels in our mulberry, plum and pear trees. They’re even all over the bird feeders and the hummingbirds feeder. They’re looking in our security cameras on the deck and in our trees. The deers and groundhogs are just as bad. They have plenty to eat.

Not to go back and forth but it's just an opinion. As far as my education is concerned, I am highly educated. I just call things as I see them. I don't mean to ruffle anyone's feathers, but in the past several years a person cannot blink without offending someone.

A Squirrel chewed through a wire in our solar panels and caused a house fire. A friend’s house just burned down because of squirrel in their wall chewed through wiring. They’re not saints. Just saying. (But this is cute.)

All the gardeners who don't see a single fruit from their trees because squirrels take every single one feel you. They only bury peanuts in our lettuce planters here, so I don't yearn for their blood like most do, but I still hold a grudge about the persimmon tree at our last place.

A bunch of them put out a hit on my grandmother. The case was only cracked because one of them broke under interrogation. Don't let their cheerful little faces fool you.

Poor squirrels go through all the red maple seeds in a neighborhood that just cut a bunch of them down, black walnuts I bring from other far away trees, any other seeds they can find from bird seed or otherwise and still gobble up anything nature or anyone else I leaves for them 🤷

I'll go that one farther. Our typical choice of pets has introduced a predator density that they would never experience in nature by itself
