Six years ago a Donkey named Diesel went missing in Wyoming. He's now part of an Elk community. Experts call it rare: a Donkey forming a deep bond with a completely different species for companionship and survival. Since he appears safe, officials chose to let him remain with his adopted Elk family♥️
The donkey probably keeps them safe as well. They’ll stomp a coyote or fox in a second.

I lived in Longmont CO until last year. We had an elk who chose to live with 2 bulls and some pigs on a small farm. She would sometimes leave for rut but always came back, never did have a calf. They all just hung out together peacefully

Some misguided do-gooders tried to mess up her arrangement saying the farmer fed her. He didn't, she was a wild animal who fed herself and chose her home. The farm was at 287 and Oxford. I'd always look for her fluffy butt when we drove by

& who are we humans to think we could overrule what diesel has chosen? animals can live without us. we cannot live without them. mother nature always has final say ❤️
