They do have feelings. I have a cat who was very empathetic anytime I get sad or upset, she will come and comfort me.

Same. My oldest cat's 17 years old now and she knows me so well - always there when I get upset, after my Dad died or if I'm ever crying, and when I'm ever ill she lies right next to me to bring comfort. I rescued her and she rescued me back. So empathetic.
