I volunteered at a farm animal sanctuary in SoCal repairing fences and whatnot, and there was this younger cow that I'd lay down with in a pile of hay. She put her head in my lap as I scratched her head and neck. Even the longhorn bull I was warned of got to be friendly after he got to know me.

For some reason humans drink the breast milk of cows, which is taken from the cows - they don't give it. Most often the cow is doomed to a life chained to a post with an extraction pipe driven into the cow's body. The only happy cow is the one not used for it's meat and milk.

This is where cows belong, out in the field. You bring them in at night, milk them in the morning and put them out in the pasture during the day. They don't belong in some CAFO factory pen.

I take off running with a whole herd of cows following me. End up standing in the cow pond surrounded by cows screaming and crying for my friends to save me. They are all just sitting on the fence laughing.
