If you like spy novels "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Spy" by Len Deighton is great (dated but still good). I really liked "The Calculating Stars" by Mary Robinette Kowal, alternative history, the U.S. goes to Mars. For non-fiction Rebecca Wragg Sykes book on Neaderthals "Kindred" is just brilliant.
