Thank you Alina. He has dementia so even though l’m his only child he doesn’t really know it’s me l think. I’m just a kind man that brings gifts on a weekly basis but along as he is happy, that’s my number one priority 😌👍🏼
My dad had dementia too. I think it varied whether he knew me or not. I felt like sometimes he didn't know I was his daughter but knew that I was important. When I helped them move, he tried playing peekaboo with me on the plane. So sorry you're going through this. It's very hard.
That’s a beautiful story Robyn and yes l think there are times when all the wires get uncrossed for the briefest of moments but they scramble just as quickly. It’s heart breaking, but also it can be heart warming. As l did with Alina, l salute you for the love and support you, Alina and me give ❤️
I made a photo book documenting my dad's life so he could see photos and names of all the important people in his life and the people who worked in memory care could know more about his life too. They really liked it.
That’s a fabulous idea, Robyn and I’ve done something similar as the people at the nursing home asked me to do some sort of “trip down memory lane” for Dad. So, l got a digital photo frame and loaded it up with hundreds of pictures which we often go through together 😌👍🏼

I took care of my mom with Alzheimer's until I couldn't do it alone anymore, so we put her in a memory care home, and I visited her several times a week until she passed. It's very hard. I salute you. ❤️
That’s the same with me Alina. Dad was living with me until his medial needs went way beyond my skill set. He’s been at the nursing home (more like a hotel with expert care!) for 3 years next month. I also lost my Mum to Alzheimer’s 7 years ago so l know that all too well. I salute you too ❤️
I'm so sorry that your mom had it too. My mom was in the care facility three years when she passed. One year of that was hospice care. They are angels. All the care workers are heroes.
They are and l have met so many health care professionals and they are extraordinary people that have a gift of compassion and empathy that l will never forget. I am so sorry you went through what you did. It’s beyond awful ❤️
