If i refer to a time period where something happened and where it was normal and necessary to describe the culture, its called Zeitgeist. When I explain you the word ja-knikker (yes-nodder) got bastered to nikker in the 1600 and than bastered by you by making the k a g cause you couldn't pronounce

Clearly not in all of Europe, I’ve never heard it used as such. But also, “degenerative” does not mean what you think it means. It means “causing to degenerate”, a fascist concept of societal collapse- for example, neo-Nazis believe North Africans to be “degenerative” to society.
