NASA isn't voluntarily trying to end a moon program, but I hear SpaceX is interested in picking up that contract when NASA no longer has adequate resources or funding.
But they already have the contract to deliver their Starship HLS as part of the Artemis 3 crewed landing (which is looking less and less likely given Starship's history...) Of course none of this really matters, because all Musk really wants is to fleece the government for as much as he can.
If NASA has no money, how could Musk pick up the Artemis contract? In other words, who would contract with SpaceX, if not NASA?
It's a good question. Cut funding for orgs, cancel contracts, shuffle money around, sign new contracts...I know this isn't NASA but certainly raises some questions about what's really behind these decisions. www.newsweek.com/elon-musk-in...
