Yeah, all the legislation that was passed under Joe to get the economy on track - including the Inflation Reduction Act - I guess that missed you. Stock market - well, more people than not own stocks, pensions, etc.

But it has very little impact on slowing inflation. And THAT hits hard everyday. There was no message to counteract that whatsoever The data doesn’t lie

So, getting a sampling of people's opinions on how how they feel about inflation is one source. Another is the actual inflation data.

You conveniently miss the point. You have to listen to what matters to most Americans in crafting your message for why people should vote for you. The Dems message did not sway Ind’s and Reagan GOP’ers. And that’s where they needed the votes

A big part of the Dems challenge was that they did not believe a good chunk of America would vote for a convicted felon, adjudicated rapist, leader of an insurrection, corrupt emoluments guy, incompetent leader, the mess with COVID, the monstrous lies, twice impeached, and overall blunders.

Yes. Inflation was a top 2-3 item for most. And the Dems showcased the improvements in jobs, gas prices, inflation rates, wages, etc. I guess they should have spent more time whining about what took place a few years earlier vs. the remedy/gains. Allow the patient to cry over their former illness.

You can massage stats all you want. The prevailing message from exit poll data is that inflation was the biggest concern on people’s minds and the Dems ignored it

Dems ignored inflation - despite all the actions to reduce it. Got it. How is inflation going now?

Oh no. I get it. They should have spent their time reminding everyone how bad it was during the first 2 years in the face of the most recent 2 years of improvements. They should have empathized to the point of digging up the bad memories.... That would have been the smart play. Yikes!!!

Massage stats? OK. That's a huge stretch. It's like me sharing temperature readings. Yesterday, the temp at 10am in the shade was 80 Today, same time/same place - the reading is 60 I can "massage" the stats to outline it is now cooler than yesterday.

They didn’t explain it. Gas prices spiked because of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. They supplied a decent percentage of oil/gas and our refined diesel. I was paying $7.00 for diesel for my car. Until we found alternative sources for diesel, inflation spiked. The economy runs on diesel It wasn’t Dems

Yes. That was due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. That wasn’t Biden’s fault. Russia supplied a decent portion of gas and oil to the world. They supplied our refined diesel. We scrambled for diesel. That was critical.

That’s because it’s hard to explain AP high school/college economics to Americans who are bad at math making a truck that gets 15 MPG as the #1 selling vehicle. Inflation is too many dollars chasing too few goods. Post pandemic demand and no chips, chicken wings, cars; supply chain problems.
