I think you might be surprised by what most Christians think about this current administration. Catholicism is my spiritual home, and much like my faith, I am not perfect nor will I ever be.
However, in a world that has been shaken to realism by the harshness of what we now see and experience, I would like to think that most of us, Christian and non-Christian, realize that it is the choices we have made that has brought us to where we are.
Our country’s problems are all interconnected, and in light of this, it will require the sacrifice and solidarity of all of us to move forward from an administration that is only capable of leading with fear and intimidation.
We must put aside our indifference, and heed the call for global unity and diversity if we ever expect to heal this nation and once again solidify its democracy.
Like all Christians, no matter the faith, I cannot speak for the Catholic church, I can only speak for myself. I chose to stand with those who have been oppressed and marginalized.
As for my allegiance, I will bow to no human, king, queen, or otherwise. My allegiance will always be to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
