There was a 15-20 minute where we lost control second half. The irony was Liverpool didn't score in that period, they only did when we seemed to have got to grips with our press again & it was looking better.

I’d say it was a 10-15 minute period, but yeah, and I think they got the goal just about when we were growing back into it. We got a little open down the middle and they won a free kick there and the rest is history. Brilliant strike from an excellent player.

I’ve seen a lot of free kicks, been a fan for the last 22 years… that was a special one. And for the record, I still think #LFC needs their defence to get even tighter if we want to have a chance at a second consecutive title.

I agree, on both counts. That free kick was SPECTACULAR and I said so at the time. I’m an Arsenal fan, but I’m also a football fan and that was superb technique. The bend, the precision, the power. Sometimes you have to accept someone did something brilliant.

I enjoyed how on MOTD, Wayne Rooney tried to ask, "could Raya have done better? Could he have moved his feet quicker?" And Joe Hart was immediately like, "No," then analyzed the video of the free kick and said, "Sometimes, as a goalkeeper, you just have to accept that it's a world-class free kick."

It was genuinely pretty much the perfect free-kick. He got lovely whip and bend on it to push it out of Raya’s reach and hit it so hard and fast that there was barely any time to react. I genuinely didn’t even immediately clock he’d scored for a split second because of how fast it hit the net.

As soon as I saw the distance I knew it was going in, I’ve watched him strike for a few years and felt it was perfect for him and low and behold 😢

Yeah, I think @arseblog.com said he would’ve preferred it being a bit closer. Felt the distance might suit him. And so it proved.

Absolutely eye of a needle stuff; any further to the right and it would have been saved and any further to the left and it would have gone out.

Think Szo said the same in his post game interview. Any more inside the post and Raya gets it, any further out and it either hits the post and comes out or goes wide. Postage stamp. And credit to him, it was a foul, it was a free kick, the decision was fair, and he buried it. Fair play.
