I really hope so, particularly in light of the concerns so many disabled people have, including myself. I'm not against assisted dying in principle, far from it, but this Bill is too weak in parts.
This is not about disabled people unless they have a terminal diagnosis of 6 months. It gives people the choice of a peaceful death at a time they choose or letting nature take it’s course.
Speak to disabled people about their experience of healthcare. Look at Covid death numbers, particularly people with a learning disability. Look at 'do not resuscitate' notices place on disabled people's records without permission or knowledge. Trust me, this will be about disabled people.
