TW: periods I can’t take the combo pill because migraine with aura and high blood pressure and I’d rather not have a hysterectomy because that’s such major surgery. Hopefully they can figure something else out. Anyway, perimemopause tip for anybody else going through it, these are worth a try.

Have you considered a Mirena coil? That's what they gave me. Haven't had a period for like a year now.

Also you should take iron supplements

Thanks! I already do because I don’t eat meat and when this happened to me another time like ten years ago it took literal years to get my iron levels up to normal so I just kept taking them. I am going to ask my doctor to test my levels and if they’re bad, I’m hoping I can get an infusion this time

Ah good! It just occurred to me that it could be an issue and sometimes people are so focused on the heavy period they don't think about the iron x

What about endometrial ablation? Common in many women at this point in their lives.

I used to work in this field in the medical industry. I'm not trying to weird you out.

I was actually going to ask about that! I’m almost 50, so I’m definitely not looking to preserve my fertility or anything. This seemed like a more permanent less invasive option than some others.

Yeah there's a couple of ways they do it either with HF radio or a small balloon that is inflated and filled with hot water. There's a low risk but you need to take some sort of BC after until post menopausal. It's about a twenty minute procedure.

I'm sure there's quite a bit online or YouTube from people who know a lot more than me.

I don’t know if it will help with periods but the thing that saved the rest of the world from my perimenopause was OTC transdermal progesterone. At least the hot flashes & Behavior.
