Oh, it’s only a fraction being snatched off streets that our country is sending to be tortured. How lucky for the rest who are sent back to unsafe situations. The Administration goes out of their way to make detention centers as uncomfortable as possible. We’re better than this … at least we were!
In fact, its less than .10% of the approximate 300K caught up in the immigration crackdown for 2025 thus far. So yes, media-hype. Sucks to be wrongfully sent there. But, considering the number of US citizens wrongfully convicted every year, it's pretty damn good. No system is perfect.
I don’t have a problem with criminals being picked up and sent out. What I’m opposed to is picking immigrants up when they’re trying to do the right thing at immigration offices, etc. That’s not what Trump ran on. ICE is out everyday just to fill a quota. Has nothing to do with making us safe.
Actually, on the campaign trail, Trump did run on coming down hard on illegal immigration. He never once minced words about it.
He talked about murderers and rapists not farm workers, poultry plant workers, etc.
Now this is where you do have a point. But, when has any politician kept their campaign promises or at least modify them? My real issues is the utter silence from Congress over Trumps corruption. Namely the straight up clear violation of the Constitutions Emolument Clause.
Yep. Trump uses the office to line his/his family’s pockets. Congress, SCOTUS lets him get away with it because they want to keep their jobs. The Republicans are afraid of Trump’s wrath and do nothing. The Dems have no power. Our democracy is going down the tubes as we speak.
