It's not just farm workers. A friend in Texas told me she can't get care nurses to turn up to help look after elderly residents on her books. The ones willing too want double the money for the risks they feel they're taking.

20% of TX nurses are immigrants. Combined with the cuts to rural health I can’t imagine the impact.

She has a mix of qualified nurses and then Personal / Home Health care aides. The former are getting harder to get and the latter that have almost completely dried up. She's an APRN qualified nurse herself that started her own company. She's out in the community now trying to hold it all together.

That sucks so bad, such a needed area, home health is tough to hire and keep for. I just don’t understand how they see numbers like that, and still move forward. I mean I literally get that they’re horrific greed monsters but like, jfc
