“The CFIA can impose fines of up to $15,000 per offence. No fines or other penalties were issued in the cases, including one that took four months to fully resolve.” How much💰💰💰 was wasted to “resolve” these cases, only to let the retailers continue to screw-over Canadian consumers? 😡

This should be used more often. Twelve reported complaints for the country seems a small number. I will report the next one I find.🇨🇦

Of those 12 complaints, “all but one involved NATIONAL grocery chains” This means that they’re doing it in ALL of their stores across the country. 😑

More complaints are necessary to hold them accountable. Now that I know, I will be using this tool and my phone.

This is still occurring. An Independent grocer in BC has a huge bin of watermelons that say product of Mexico. The little stickers on the melons all say product of USA 🤥 False advertising should be a felony offence. It is done with intent and malice.
