I sometimes look up items on Amazon and then purchase them directly from the seller. It's often less expensive, too, because sellers have to pay Amazon a percentage. ebay sometimes has the same items as Amazon.

I've started doing that, too. But I have some subscribe and save that I can't find anywhere else. I sometimes feel like this:

I moved to Mexico in 2021 & it took awhile, but I’ve given up buying from Amazon. I live in a small rural fishing village w no major chain stores. Closest is Costco, 30 miles away. If I can give up ordering from Amazon, anyone can.

I buy 90% local from family-owned stores and have learned to live w/o most of the stuff I used to buy from Bezos. I use MercadoLibre & eBay for the few things that I can’t find here. Both are much cheaper than Amazon

We hauled ass an hour/2hours away. But when you are elderly & live in a rural area with icy roads and hard winters, that option is not viable. When husband broke his hip last winter, I was up a creek. I needed all sorts of stuff, groceries, special aids, meds. Thank goodness for Walmart + & Amazon.

My household used to use Amazon a lot. We have cut back on spending in general, and shop locally or directly from the company online for products we used to buy on Amazon.

I loath Trump but with my husband, retired U. S. Army and myself both on fixed incomes living in California to boot we buy in bulk from Amazon each month delivered. Already cut some items from our list but it’s the only way we make it here, and Walmart of course.

Join Costco! They ship and are an ethical company. You do not need to live near a Costco to join. As you are accustomed to ordering in bulk, you will make up your membership fee in no time. (Veteran US Air Force myself, married to retired US Air Force)

That’s why I haven’t bought a single thing from them since Nov2024. It actually took me a few months to get them to refund my money they continued to charge me for Prime when I cancelled it in November 2024.🤬

Canceling prime is an absolute nightmare. I found it easier just to lock my card constantly and only unlock it when I made purchases. Did this until I could get a new debit card. Kept Amazon from pulling.
