Absolutely not!
Absolutely not!
Creeps me out on so many levels.
In a word. No

What is this supposed to achieve, besides a monumental waste of money? I think I'll give it a miss. Simnel cake to bake.
OOoh I love Simnel cake! An excellent idea. And yes I'm very much in two minds on this one. I'm an excited kid when it comes to rocket launches, but turning space into the playground of the rich and famous achieves nothing for (wo)mankind. Sighs....
I’d be full of praise for this if it didn’t smack of billionaire hubris and masturbation material for the tangerine shit gibbon. I don’t see how it does anything for female emancipation, but I’m willing to be convinced otherwise.
I was amused to read that much of the "training" consisted of learning where the cameras are on board. 🤔
Really? How unsurprisingly predictable and disappointing. Please reassure me that some good science will still result, or is it just more StarLink?
Indirectly? Commercialisation of space travel should, in principle, bring down the cost for scientific missions. But with the tangerine cutting the NASA budget and giving 13.5B to Space-X, Blue Origin and ULA in Pentagon contracts, it doesn't feel like science is going to benefit any time soon ☹️
But which "commerce" exactly is possible? Some huge fleet of telecommunication and navigation sats, which are threatening the access to space already. Very few material science missions, Earth observation. I think that's it. The rest is military, devastating the Moon for minerals, not good.
A crew of women going to "space" on Bezos' penis rocket? No thanks. I pass on all things Bezos these days. And Musk and Zuckerberg for that matter.
What, was Disneyland closed? Bloody ridiculous.
They went only 10 minutes as a space tourits, fully catered, pampered and paid for by Bezos, when generations of men did more under more precarious circumstances. I don't consider them astronauts.
Setting feminism back a decade or so, I fear.
I'm less pessimistic. This is a really brave thing that these incredibly powerful and successful women are about to do, traits typically not associated with women. If they want to wear lipstick and stilettos while they're doing it then I think, why not?
Brave, powerful, successful, traits typically not associated with women? Thats not what you meant is it?
Brave is being a - 1) #mother raising children while working multiple jobs. 2) #soldier 3) #teacher 4) #librarian and so much more than wearing stilettos and lipstick for an 11 minute joy ride on a #bloatedbillionaire toy. 😕
Thank you.
Well said 👍
My comment was a bit too flippant.
Does marrying a billionaire make you "successful?"
Ah Lauren Sanchez is more than just a fiancee. She's a helicopter pilot, NYT best selling author and also a journalist. Clearly bad taste in men mind 😉
But she's not on the flight because of any of those.
Fair!
Ha ha ha ha 🤣 ego! No. Narcissistic egos ha ha ha ha hav who is Katy Perry guys. Gayle is Oprah’s buddy ! one Bezos girlfriend! Crazy. The country is falling apart and 6 women are taking a 11 minute ride from an inept billionaire!
My litmus test on whether anyone from the crew knows what they are doing is whether they are mainly recording glorified TikToks, they are making summersaults, or whether they are looking outside the window. First one, gah, second you can buy for 6k€ (parabola flight), only the 3rd is priceless.
It's difficult to care about these flights. Was interesting when Branson 1st did it, but SpaceX and Blue Origin repeating it - for the shameless commercialism of it all - leaves me cold. Best moment so far to come from space tourism seems to be someone famous experiencing the Overview Effect.
I know. KP acting like she’s a pioneer “showing little girls everywhere they can also go to space”. Has she missed all the actual female astronauts 🙄 They are nothing but a publicity payload for Bezos. The technology is pretty awesome though so that’s a plus.
💯 well said Sir!
