I am sure the jackasses who left vandalism-by-association on her brand are throughly hated by every member of her organization. I will forgive a lot from the genius black woman who rescued US literature by making a book club.

How many of the books were any good, though?
Don't even care. If the philanthropy that built libraries is good, the cultural movement that gave people reason to go to libraries is better than good. I have zero interest in gatekeeping reading for entertainment.
You know what, that's fair, and I'll acknowledge I'm being a snob.
Quite a lot of them, really. But the garbage ones are a lot more memorable as Oprah's Book Club selections because WTF?
I'll retract my criticism because I am willing to acknowledge I'm being an unfair snob. But I still first and foremost think of fucking James Frey.
Understandable. As I said, that's more memorable. The non-grifter stuff now stands on its own merits, while that ... well.... it was on Oprah.
Quite a few, surprisingly. Especially over time, she started doing more classics/challenging books instead of tragedy porn.
"A Million Little Pieces"
Yes! She went so hard for that book and then shat all over that dude. "She told more lies to the public times a thousand than I ever have."
As depicted in this documentary footage
Haven't seen it. Looks like a tv show made for entertainment that I watched a couple of years ago though.
Cool quip. Would you care to state openly what you're trying to say?
You make a fair point, Opes definitely has some good to go with a lot of bad... Billionaires, they're just like us!
