So jealous. Love Iceland. I just spoke to a lovely new-ish writer. Great to know there are still good people wanting to work in this ridiculous industry...

We haven't put them off, that's great!
I’m in Scotland and village gala is today so there will be kids in kilts playing pipes. Am excited.
Please forgive one final post - the coals look so pretty as they're dying down. It's been a lovely evening with both sides of the family to stay...
Wonderful ❤️
I had a summer scheme running this week. 6 amazing girls creating their own unique styles and I got to help them do it. From long hippy skirts in liberty style fabric to short punk skirts with eyelets and laces. 😍
I booked my own trip to Iceland this week. For next month -father son trip. 😊🇮🇸
Preorder print books hitting people's doormats. Ten days to go. And my wife has got my m-i-l's estate across the line and closed, which has been a serious struggle for various reasons. Well done her, a trying couple of years. And a wrangle by email was settled by a proper chat.
I went to see The Cat that Slept for a Thousand Years at Manchester Museum yesterday and it was quite lovely.
My good news is my surgery went well, they managed to get everything and my current recovery consists of reading my Shannara books and eating Haribo
Sounds deeply medicinal
I was happy to see @thebookseller.com feature a podcast that @grainneobrien.bsky.social & I are launching in Sept to highlight great Children’s and YA books! The idea is very simple - each episode is 10 minutes long and will discuss the book - we’ll also have author chats and giveaways!
Always happy to talk about my kids' picturebook on marriage equality & the need for representation should you need a quick slot in guest at any point! @grainneobrien.bsky.social Bx #TenMinuteBookclub #OurBigDay
Was excited to see this too! Congrats!
If you are still looking for podcast guests, I write middle grade fantasy. Book 4 of my series will be out in November. 😊
Lemme know if you ever fancy a bit of poetry 😊 www.joshuaseigal.co.uk
Looking forward to this! A brand-new book-based podcast to get your students back in the reading mood following the summer break! Might even be worth cataloguing to let Web App visitors access episodes during break and lunch!
Sounds brilliant. Will you be only reviewing new releasees or will it be a theme-based sort of thing? Or both? Or something else? Sorry to ask but I can't view the article.
We will be reviewing a big mix of both new and older but it will all be picture books up to YA! If any authors or publishers want to get I touch for a book for consideration you can email me at lucasmaxwellwrites [at] gmail dot com Thanks!
Cheers Lucas. I may well try and join you one day if you'll have me. Good luck with it all.
so jealous! I've only ever been in winter.
Ahhh that's so cool! 🤩 Have a great trip! I'm at my Mum's for a mini break and looking forward to doing very little.
Iceland looks amazing! 😍 my good news is that I got an agent this week! 🥹
Congrats 🙌
WELL DONE!
I love Iceland! My good news is I finally have page proofs for the hardback edition of EVERYTHING NOT SAVED 🥹
Brilliant!
Oh wow! Echoing the brilliant and I can’t wait to see the finished thing.
Didn’t know you were an Iceland fan. We returned on 17th from a 2 week family holiday there. (I will be going back).
It's brilliant!
That is just amazing! Very jealous. My good news is that I got this review in the US:
Awesome!
I’ve seen the cover for my new book and it’s fab!
Hurrah!
Ugh I want to be in Iceland! But we did get to visit castles all week and play with dragons and shoot arrows (not together)
How stunning – enjoy!! My good news is that the @ibbyuk.bsky.social conference is open for booking with the theme Whose History? & thanks to @booksforkeeps.bsky.social there is a free place available! booksforkeeps.co.uk/books-for-ke...
oh brilliant!
Iceland is honestly one of my favourite places ever!
I got some good news yesterday but it’s of the sort I can’t talk about yet until I’m allowed! 🤭
Secrets!
🤫😁
Stunning photo - how lucky are you! I signed a contract for a thing today, and had an offer on some stuff this week! And my 6-year-old just created his first "signature". So cute!
We're off to London for the weekend! Stranger Things tomorrow & Witness for the Prosecution on Sunday! And possibly visiting The Cutty Sark as well 😁
Amazing photo. So nice! Really well taken. 🤩 👉👈 My good news is that two podcast episodes featuring me were released in one day yesterday. The Junk Filter podcast about Fantastic 4 and Japan on Film podcast about Weathering With You. 🥳
Thank you! And yay for your new pod!
Thank yoooou! 😀
I went for a drink with a friend last night and we just had a really good time.
I loved Iceland. I climbed a glacier! I discovered that there is a book called Working on a Song, which explores the lyrics in Hadestown. I am already obsessed with the musical, but seeing the creative process is so satisfying.
Still amazed at our school printer: I can tell it to make a booklet of my document with staples in the fold and it does! So yeah, I made booklets. 😁
Magic!
New person at work sorted something out for me that has felt like ages kicking a dead horse.
My two grandchildren are alive, well, and we see them every week.
Finally getting around to starting this. I loved the first two books.
My ceramic colour wheel bracelet from the exhibition at the Brighton Pavilion!
That's gorgeous!!
Get thee to Brighton! The necklace was too heavy but the bracelet is just right 🤗
Any excuse for a trip to Brighton!
That’s gorgeous ! Enjoy! 😍 I guess my good news is today’s my last day of work before my trip to Spain next week.
Enjoyyyyy!
My nephew, Tom (30), arrived last night from Berlin. We're having a fine old time apart from him having to work today. I keep wanting to feed him but he's really busy! 🤣
I'm in Belfast! I am going to a castle tomorrow! I met a tv person who script edited my tv pilot idea and we hadn't met in real life so we've had a lovely dinner and catch up! He's encouraging me to carry on screenwriting even though getting anything made is really hard!
Someone emailed me this morning, asking for help. So, I'm now going to do just that. All I ever want (in the end) is to be helpful, to be useful, to allow people to be happy. This is a Good Day.
Looks familiar! :D (Glad to see you’ve somehow got some good weather too. We managed four mostly sunny days out of four during our day trips last week.)
I'm in Cumbria and really enjoying sharing some of my favourite places as a child with my children.
I'm also getting lots of reading done and am really enjoying reading You Are Here by David Nicholls in the landscape in which it's set.
Iceland! Great place. Lemmy's Bar and Dillon's Whiskey Bar, for music.
We’re two thirds of the way through the summer holiday and everyone is still alive. 😅
