My daughter’s secondary school uniform looks just like mine did 30 years ago, except that she now has the option of trousers, and her kilt has POCKETS! If that’s not progress, I don’t know what is.

I finished God of War: Ragnarok, ending the franchise's Norse saga, and man I have so many great things to say about the game, particularly how it tackles masculinity, fatherhood, owning our decisions and choices vs fate. Anyway, that made me smile a lot

Got Mum and Dad safely back home after a fortnight visiting. The car's lifetime avg mpg climbed to 47 (after being 43.something when we bought it). And we went out to a lovely out door pub this evening.

Is it awful to say the last day of the summer holidays is making me smile? 😉 The Lego store finally opened in Belfast and my mum gave us money so we went a bit nuts. This is the size of bag we got. The Boy has already built over £100 worth of Lego. 😆

Someone's PIP has been reinstated after a clerical error cancelled it. So the thousand pound a month black-hole will be filled. Can confirm they've not miraculously recovered from any of several congenital disabilities. Plus I finally got a diagnosis for ADHD so it's official now.

Started watching Pachinko (on Apple TV+) and by god I'm swept away like I was when I read the book years ago. What a cast. And the title sequence is both bittersweet and joyous. Oh and Donut Squad. Always Donut Squad. 😂

I think it’s also harder to find - streaming services have really fractured the viewing experience, especially with a flood of new providers. I mean just where the hell is MGM?!

Now TV has a lot of the "where the hell is..." stuff but yes everything is so split, people have different subs so unless something's on netflix, it's highly likely when you're reccing to someone, they won't have the relevant service!
