π€£π€£ the amount of kettles and shower heads Iβve got through since living here is ridiculous! π
You need a loyalty card for Currys π
π€£ I should have done!
*nods* m just buys cheap shower heads now cos they donβt last long and once youβve descaled a kettle the water never tastes the same πΆπΎπ
I've only ever descaled an iron and after nearly killing us both with the fumes i've never bothered again! The water isnt magical here, we are under United Utilities afterall, but its not got a slimy film on it like when I lived in Wolves. That made your tongue feel all furry π€’
That sounds horrible π¬πΆπΎπ
It was but I was a student in the early 90s so it was the very least of my accomodation problems! π€£ Doing battle with the cockroaches, silverfish, dodgy wiring, unusual plumbing, carbon monoxide roulette, single glazing, scary cellar, interesting neighbours/hood etc etc....π€ͺππ #happydays
Gosh and you survived! Mind you it sounds a bit like Uncle Edβs student accommodation in Leicester. In one place he shared with medical students they must have been trying to make their own penicillin, even Ed bought disinfectant wipes cos it was so disgusting π€’ π±πΆπΎπ
π€£π€£π€£ I dont even know if we had disinfectant wipes back then Billy! It was all 'character building'. We did survive, probably because we werent fully with it a lot of the time π€«π Health and safety was a thing of the distant future back then. Growing your own penicillin sounds good though π
It was disgusting and they were training to be Drs π± and they kept burning holes in the carpet too. He was glad to move out of those digs. π€£π€£π€£
πππ Indoor BBQs or ciggie burns? π€
Hubbly bubbly pipe. He was very angry cos they kept burning the carpet π¬ he was worried as he thought he wouldnβt get his deposit back but luckily he did πΆπΎπ
Exactly. Same here.
