I'm glad we sorted our old world. Poor ole Jeffo is warp factoring towards Vulcan right now, looking for new worlds and new civilisations. Final thoughts, never look a gif horse in the mouth

I appreciate your sympathy, but honestly, I think having a vision of a future where no one goes without actually keeps me grounded. It's easy to get bogged down in the minutae of stock markets, national debt, corporate etiquette etc, but those things are worthless if they don't improve lives.
It's the old cliché - the economy should serve the people, not the people serve the economy. What's the point of any of this if we can't take care of each other? Why protect a society that doesn't help us become the best versions of ourselves? It won't be easy, but we have that vision to drive us.
One of the many things that really pissed me off during the COVID pandemic was the obsession from certain quarters on the effect on “the economy” over and above the human cost. And by human cost I don’t JUST mean the death toll; which was / is bad enough, but, just cos it didn’t kill you…
…didn’t mean there wasn’t a human cost to becoming infected 🙄, physical and mental.
Then there’s the enduring [media] obsession with “growth” 🙄🤬 Have these people never grasped the concept of a finite resource?
Yeah, I think the pandemic was a real eye opener for a lot of people. The whole 'essential workers' thing really annoyed me; minimum wage folks forced to expose themselves to infection, hailed as heroes by govt, then promptly abandoned when restrictions lifted. They were seen as disposable.
I was one of them, we worked on the covid infection study to develop a vaccine, but my huge admiration was for supermarket workers who kept us fed. And therein is my philosophy on life from a working class childhood - putting food on the table is true nobility.
Whatever else you might do, watch THE LIFE OF CHUCK. No spoilers, but Sc3 encapsulates that idea beautifully.
Might be a while before I get to see that 🫤 AppleTV streaming service wants me to pay €22 to “pre order” it 😳 Not happening ☹️
I can get the book in hardback for €16.95 🤔
I know a guy who knows a guy, that knows a pirate.... Either that or the audible app
