There is some truth to that, but someone like my brother-in-law certainly knows right from wrong. The problem is his unwillingness to put any thought into the propaganda he is being fed and just lazily accepting it as gospel.

My best childhood friend, 61 years of friendship. I had no idea she was racist, homophobic- all those terrible things. I had to step away. I often wonder if she’ll ever come back to center.

So many people I grew up with, that I had a feeling but wasn’t sure, I learned when trump was elected were truly brainwashed idiots. Yet my life is much better off with zero contact with them.

That is one of the unspoken tragedies of the Trump years; all of the broken relationships that have occurred due to decent people finding that they have been keeping company with truly awful people.

I don’t want to believe I was hoodwinked for so long. But, TACO legitimized saying and doing terrible things. It’s a mind fvck to me.
