I suppose it may be possible to dominate the narrative without the keen assistance of MSM, but it certainly helps to have it.

I suspect the latter (+ technological change) explains the former, as the definition of a "natural monopoly" is an industry where a firm serving the entire market still had average cost > marginal cost.

The beeb have been a disgrace. I’ve long been a supporter but having dispensed with their best journalists, few of their political/current affairs programmes are worth watching/listening to.
Has the BBC sucked up to the Tories not just because the Tories were in power for 14 years, but also because they can credibly threaten to yank the TV licence fee in a way which (because the commercial media is mostly right-leaning) a Labour government cannot?

Farage's two achievements - Brexit ,a complete disaster, and parroting Trump - ending DEI? in the UK. Mass deportations, tax cuts for the uber wealthy, privatised health care. Look at the current state of the US, look again in three years time. Is that what you want for the UK?
