I miss having bread and dripping for tea. Made extinct by all this healthy eating malarkey. My grandparents were quite happy dying at 50. Saved money as well.

it's become a RW equivalent of "things I don't like", so it essentially describes most of the modern, decent, open world

OMG Wonder Bread still exists, just eat and shut up already! There's a kind of bread available for everyone's tastes and/or medical issues.

I hated as a kid as well as bubble and squeak but apparently a lot of well known chefs swear by it in cooking

My Dad used to love his bread and dripping when I was young. There were also UCP cafes and tripe shops back then. He died of a stroke.

It's all down to genes and my father's side of the family were prone to cardiovascular problems, which I've inherited. But bread and dripping didn't help.

So much better for the State Pension system. I'm surprised the Government is not promoting it.

If he misses his American rubbish "bread" so much, why doesn't he go to the next supermarket and buys himself some?

Throw in a couple of trotters and a bit of cow heel and you had a perfectly balanced diet. Who needs fruit and vegetables?

My mum occasionally fed us sugar butties. 👀 And we had full strength Ribena when we were children. Guess what happened to our teeth.

My woke parents fed me fluoride supplements as a kid. Part of a government conspiracy I expect. Anyway, my dentist recently told me that at 50 I had "the teeth of a teenager"*. *in the sense that they are in very good condition, not that I've stolen some kids teeth.

I'm not sure if it was their brainwashing or the fluoride that means I think every human has innate dignity and worth, which is obviously a very unhelpful view to hold these days, but at least I have all my teeth.
