Never player Brawl. I started and still play on Melee, the only time i almost played Brawl was when i bought it and saw its a US import that i can't play :(

And if you own a Wii and it's a launch model, maybe consider pirati-I mean having it modified so it can play that as it was the first dual layer disc for Wii, and launch models were notorious for not reading those half the time (I should know, I've experienced this first hand)
