I wonder if its a US thing, in France the corporate farm are f massive because once the soil is not good enough they reuse them for animals so they can rest. After a while they turn back into field (mostly for corn near me).

I don't see any evidence of what you see in France happening here. The farms have 1,000+ cattle and they are kept in barns and feed lots. No grazing land exists.
