I must disagree. If we look back to the Watergate scandal, Katherine Graham owned the Washington Post and supported editor Ben Bradlee and Woodward & Bernstein in taking down Nixon. The paper put journalism above profits. 1/2

Similarly, the once great NY Times bucked threats from Nixon & published the Pentagon Papers and exposed the deceit by our government in escalating Vietnam. A free and vigilant press is necessary to protect our democracy. Today’s media has abandoned that in favor of ratings, revenue and profits. 2/2
