Taking the "concerns" of bigots seriously. It isn't about sports or bathrooms,to pretend there is any validity to the "concerns" just emboldens anti-trans people. For what other group would this be acceptable? "I know you don't want Black people in the pool and I hear your concerns"?

Are you implying that parents should *not* have concerns about their middle school daughters competing on teams with trans girls? That those concerns should *not* be taken seriously? It has nothing to do with skin color and your comment trying to correlate the two is disingenuous.

I'm not implying, I am flat-out stating that parents with "concerns" about their daughters playing sports with trans girls should get the same reaction they would get if they had "concerns" about Black or Jewish players.

Buttigieg and other politicians know full well that the anti-trans laws and policies plaguing this country aren't because of concerned parents. They're because of a coordinated effort by Christian nationalists to chip away at our rights. It's no different from any other civil rights issue.

Once you're on HRT and lose strength, any "advantage" of your "bigger frame" (which for minors may not even be present) just becomes having a worse power to weight ratio. These are things that trans people, scientists, and sports leagues have dealt with for a good while.

Thank you! This is precisely the type of information that Buttigieg is referring to in the last paragraph of that transcript… Bringing people together to honestly talk about concerns will lead to better outcomes. Your ability to calmly respond to parental Qs would be invaluable.

People have been answering this type of question for years now and the attacks on trans rights have just gotten worse.

Right but does he use the opportunity to follow up with the correct info? That there shouldn't be concern? That's the huge part that's missing. Agreeing with the concern without providing unequivocal support for us is deeply unnerving. Starmer's Labour is worse than many red states re:trans rights

I can’t tell you what he’ll do in the future, but can only judge him by past efforts to support the community. If you haven’t read his statement on LBGTQ+ rights and efforts, here’s a link to his archived campaign policies. Pay particular attention to the videos. web.archive.org/web/20200206...

Plenty of politicians throwing us under the bus have histories of supporting us. Biden called trans rights the civil rights issue of our time. Our rights still continued to be stripped throughout his presidency.

No you shouldn't take it seriously because sports leagues already had ways of regulating trans competition for years before a concerted effort to push people towards transphobic bigotry made you think about us. I literally had to drop down bowling ball weights after a year and a half on HRT get real

No, those "concerns" should not be taken seriously, and yes, it is indistinguishable from having "concerns" over skin colour.
