It's not incompetence. They were deployed on a 29 day rotation specifically so that no payments would have to be made for meals or anywhere to sleep.

So, where do they sleep? The govt is trying to get out of paying for something to take care of them w our defense budget?? Apologies, this is a subject Idk much about, tbh.

Right now they are sleeping inside of federal buildings because they can't bivouac on state property without violating many laws and likely the third amendment prohibition on quartering of troops.

Well, Trump is violating the constitution by sending them there, so I guess he's the "do as I say, not as I do" type. This is all drama & they're stuck in it. I couldn't do it. I was never good with "do as I say, not as I do." So, this is totally normal procedure?

I mean real soldiers have to do worse. My vet partner told me about having to go to an off-site to guard military families out in Iraq and they had to sleep in the gutters. Nat guard and reservists see that kind of shabby treatment way less often.

And they need to stay on federal property while bivouaced bcz. they are US troops. The federal building is the obvious choice--location, size, security.
