Good to see that some cities are introducing parking charges based on vehicle size and weight. Personal vehicle bloat comes at the expense of everyone else - but especially the most vulnerable.

What happened to cars becoming smaller and using less fuel? Which was the trend. A motor industry campaign to make larger, more expensive cars popular appears to have led to the commonplace SUV 😞

And what happened to low wedge shaped bonnets, because they're safer for pedestrians if hit? I remember this being a specific thing, and adverts highlighting it.

The problem with doing this is that these people will then see themselves as being even more important, with the right to do what they want in urban spaces. The 'because I pay more' mentality creates an elite. These cars just need to be banned, and all private vehicles have a size/width restriction.
