Even more interesting, the reason they're in suits is because of something called 'wet bulb' temperature. It's so hot and humid in that cave, your lungs would actually fill with water if you were stuck in there without protection.

That uh, adds another layer of danger to the RPG dungeons I've played that look like this. So basically you'd drown just by breathing down there.

That’s what I was thinking & then they took off air mask for a minute. Man, not this kid. I love selenite & have plenty, but death by whatever lung disease doesn’t sound like any kind of good time.

I thought the whole thing was that it was super high humidity and temp well above body temp such that the water in the air condenses in your lungs and you drown.

The cave is an extremely hostile environment for humans, with temperatures reaching 50°C (122°F) and 90% humidity. Access is limited and requires special cooling suits and limited time frames due to the dangerous conditions.
