Precisely. This is why blood donors are not paid in this country. It incentivizes deceit and puts patient recipients at risk. This is a terrible idea.

People already lie about that kind of stuff, just to be able to have a chance to save a loved one, I can't imagine how bad it would be if there was money changing hands between strangers.

True, but im also worried about poor people feeling pressured to sell an organ. Prisoners having theirs taken. I could imagine under Trump regime a world where giving up an organ fast tracks u for a visa, and then the organ goes only to those who donate big bucks to Trump. This way lies madness.

Even if they haven’t actively done drugs/smoked/whatever, just the literal stress of being poor enough to make selling an organ sound like a good idea will have taken a significant toll on the health of the organ they might try to sell
