My father wasn’t able to draft dodge and was pulled out of college to serve. Five missions on an SSBN. He was a naval officer and this parade did not honor him or any vets in any way. It was depressing and sick.

My uncle, not American, wore that uniform - got several medals in Vietnam, 2 tours. Only able-bodied Marine survivor of 2-bird shoot down. Ran about like mad Scotsman, shooting at everything that came near. He never made it back home His name was Samuel - *literally* my Uncle Sam. No heel spurs
