Daniel Craig was completely wrong for Bond. His inability to play "light" when the role required it meant that his films lost the playfulness that the previous ones had always had. #JamesBond

Y’know, I’d never thought about it in those terms, but it kinda makes sense. There’s always been a wink to the absurd in the best Bonds, one long developed over years and iterations.
This is actually a great take. Daniel Craig plays James Bond like a cross between Duke Togo from the Golgo 13 manga and Nick Fury from Marvel Comics. It's a completely different character from the established James Bond.
You are free to do so!
Fair enough! I would say there's plenty of gags in Craig's films, played very well. Dalton is the one who displays more of an inability to play the gags and kills quite a few which are scripted
I actually think Craig played much of it very lightly and playfully. And Benoit Blanc has proved that's very much in his wheelhouse. The problem in those scenes isn't Craig but the soundtrack, direction and grading ignoring what Craig and the script is doing in the moment.
Well, I disagree. I think once they realised that he couldn't deliver lines in a throwaway manner, they stopped giving him that kind of material and pushed the films into increasingly dark territory instead.
Frankly, I far prefer grumpy Daniel to miscast Perce Brassnun.
