Oh the stories she tells! Sirens on going in the streets in Paris! Gestapo "goose stepping", helmets on, boots high, German Shepherd's by their side, barking loudly! 1940 ..... She was 8 years old! Horrifying!

I don’t doubt it. My first wife was a teenager when Poland brought in Martial Law in the early 1980s. Tanks rolling down her street, people disappearing. Her parents were part of the Polish underground even though her father was the cultural mayor of their city. They were both scared for life.

Wow! Such terrifying times! My parent's bf was from Poland. He entire was family was murdered in Auscwitz, mother, father, and brother Somehow he escaped and all he had was 1 cousin! I'll never forget his tattoo on his right arm. So inhumane! 😢
