I've been following Lost Soul Aside for almost 10 years (first trailer was 2016) so its both surreal and awesome to see it finally release. Unfortunate it took so long to release since social media discussion was ruined a few years ago so I can foresee a lot of talk on this game being intolerable.
They didn’t send out review code until today, I really hope it’s not a bad omen
theres a massive day 2 patch coming out on the 29th and they probably didn't want their reviews to be colored by an old build

I get it, just I'm not reviewing this for RPG Site (we don't rush ourselves if code is late) so I'm not looking forward to chugging it all in one stream tomorrow to spend a long weekend reviewing it.
(I'm reviewing it for Restart, and on PS5 so I had to reclaim my console from Nep earlier)
This is the passion project of a dude who got a little bit Playstation Indie money after making a cool vertical slice a decade ago that screams "I love Action Games and also Versus XIII trailers" Shame it'll probably get swept up by people looking for AAA polish.
I am hoping for cool bosses that are fun and that the connective tissue doesn’t bog it down

Such a shame, play it for a few hours and it's great so far. Feel like a gamey game too which is the best I could ever asked for.
Thinking the same thing dude, had niggas makin fun of it being inspired by DMC and Ninja Gaiden and I'm like "This game was doing it before it became oversaturated
Yeah I've had my eye on it since I first learned about it back when DMC was still in purgatory, it feels so satisfying to finally see it complete the journey.
It’s always looked like a pretty cool AA action game inspired by FF. That was enough to sell me on it nearly 10 years ago and it’s still enough for me now.
the lack of early reviews and a day one patch has me worried tho
