I mean it's not rocket science. Its pretty easy to look at their results and realize they were fraudulent. Everyone knew it too which is why they added strength of schedule to mean more in CFP rankings this year

The new metric is a record strength metric, very similar to ESPN's SOR which is measures how well you did against your schedule compared to an average top 25 team. Indiana finished 8th in ESPN's SOR last year, even after the playoff.

We've lost the plot though. The only valid argument against Fickell not getting fired this year is the big buyout which I think you brought up and I agree with. CFB is becoming more and more flat in terms of talent distribution and there is no reason why Wisconsin should look like this in year 3

I'm not even against firing Fickell. I just believe any coach Wisconsin hires will only succeed if they can recruit & develop which takes several years. This Maryland loss is inexcusable. But unless a new coach can manage to keep most of Fickell's recruits we are looking at doing this all over again

Yep that’s true. I don’t know where the program goes from here. Hopefully CFB gets some sort of portal regulation or the ability to sign multi year contracts to the HS recruits so the development culture can continue.

That would be ideal
