I've just been saying it's a very different conversation than it would be if it were oh idk 100 days til the general and the opposition is this government. but then I am still v happy to have voted Harris, so that's different also. there's no *reason* to "settle" now esp w/clearly better options

There are way too many conversations about whether or not to vote for anybody right now considering nobody is even running yet.

For real! I still am not sure if I could bring myself to vote for Newsom. Trans issues are personally incredibly important to me. And the homeless stuff is ick. But we are THREE YEARS OUT. if it was September 2028, they might have a train of logic for this, but this is not then!

I personally would vote for Romney and a kick in the teeth if the only other option were Trump or MAGA in general now. But, luckily (??) this isn’t an actual dilemma

Tbh Romney was/is kinder to trans ppl AND homeless ppl than Newsom, soooo. But yes. This is THREE YEARS OUT. If enough people are #NeverNewsom, the primary will sort it out anywau

I think all Pritzker needs is more visibility. Everything people like about Newsom Pritzker does better and more authentically apart from the tweet snark shit, and he can just hire Zapata or someone else if need be, there are plenty of eager young social media staffers out there

Pritzker's big "flaw" is that he's a billionaire, but even hard lefties are all "well, billionaires should all die, but if he's the nom I'd vote for him" so yeah I dont know why so many people are already planning to die on Newsom Hill

I think that's doable, there's FDR as precedent. The bigger issue is gonna be his AIPAC background. I think if he's smart (and, obv, ethical) he'll continue to pivot-he already opined we should stop funding Israel while they're on this tear-but you know how On Here is gonna be

let me be absolutely clear that whether or not he took AIPAC money (Pritzker was on or chaired the board at one point), there is zero chance Newsom is on the correct page here and I'm sure there are receipts. more to the point he'll consult the worst people to come up with the "right" take

Was he really. Well then. There you are. He also didn't go out of his way to platform & cozy-chat with Charlie Kirk and fucking Bannon. JUST MONTHS AGO ffs

Yeah, this moment is for fighting. When someone cinches the nom it's time to close ranks, and anyone who sinks that effort is a spoiler. But until that point let's fight, get in the muck, let's get to the absolute best candidate. Be skeptical now, voice your doubts, push them to adopt good policy.
